Lake Nakuru’s fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, water-buck, buffalo and baboons are all residents’ here.

Itinerary
0600Hrs: Pick-up from your hotel, or home in Nairobi
08:00Hrs: Depart for Lake Nakuru National park via the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley. The drive from Nairobi passes through rolling farms of Kikuyu people before descending the escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift Valley. A short stop over at Mai mahiu for photo and view of the Great Rift Valley.
1000hrs: Arrive at the Nakuru National park and proceed for a 2hr game drive.
1230hrs: Enjoy lunch at the Sarova Lion hill Lodge and then after, take an afternoon game drive which focuses on the magnificent spectacle of thousands of flamingoes.
1430hrs: Further afternoon game drives, dinner and overnight at the lodge.
08:00Hrs: Breakfast and morning game drive.
10:00Hrs: Guests check out and depart for Nairobi.
